Which materials are affected
Short neuropeptides and highly charged sequences are the most hygroscopic. Semax, Selank and similar materials will visibly clump if left open in a humid room.
Equilibrate before opening
Always let a cold vial reach room temperature before breaking the seal. Opening at -20°C condenses atmospheric moisture directly onto the lyophilisate.
Work fast and reseal
Keep exposure to seconds rather than minutes, reseal with desiccant, and if you are weighing manually consider a dry box. Moisture uptake changes your effective concentration before any chemistry happens.
